Charles "Ric" Young

Charles P. "Ric" Young, 66, of Middletown, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 9, 2016, at Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in East St. Louis, Illinois on June 5, 1950 to parents Howard and Virginia Nelle (Butler) Young.

Ric worked as a Lt. Commander corrections officer at Lebanon Correctional Institute. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving as a Quartermaster in the U.S. Navy and earning a National Defense Service medal.

He was a loving & wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother & friend who will be greatly missed by his wife of 38 years, Diane (Starkey) Young ; sons, Charles A. (Jaime) Young & Jon (Shelby) Young; godsons, Chad & Derrick Faulkner & Jim Gibbs; brothers, Toby (Linda) Young, Tony (Cheri) Young & Jon (Cheryl) Young; sisters, Jessie (Keith) Sommers & Betty Jean (Ken) Bennett; and grandchildren, Brayden, Elisabeth & Gavin.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family wishes to extend their thanks to Cheri Young and Dr. Kirk Smith and his staff for their love and care.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, June 13, 2016 at 6:00 pm at Eastview Baptist Church, 4289 State Route 122, Franklin (Hunter), with Pastor Dwaine Tilford officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 5:00 – 6:00 pm at the church.
