D. Vernon Dillon

D. Vernon Dillon, 89, of Middletown, died Thursday, January 24, 2008, at her residence. She was born in Levuka, Fiji Islands on March 29, 1918 to parents Charles and Minnie Hopewell.

D. Vernon attended school in both Fiji and New Zealand. She came to America in 1945 to marry a military man. She worked as a legal secretary for attorneys Max Finkleman, Rathermel & Miller, Bill Bowen, and Crist & Barr.

Mrs. Dillon is survived by nephews, William (Sandra) Hopewell, Robert Randles, Clinton (Christine) Randles, and Peter (Diane) Hopewell; various great nieces & nephews; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. & Mrs. C.H. Hopewell and by the following brothers and sisters, Vernon Hopewell, Ada Moore, Georgie Sale, Esmé Carne, and Enid Randles.

No services will be held.
