David Anthony Lombard, 80, of Middletown, OH passed away on July 21, 2026. David was born on December 24, 1945, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Daniel and Jessie Lombard.
He earned his bachelor’s degree from Denison University and later received a Ph.D. in psychology from Ohio University. After graduating school, David and his wife settled in Centerville, Ohio, where they raised their two children. He devoted his professional life to the care and well-being of others. He was director of South Community Mental Health Center. He also opened a private clinical psychology practice in Kettering, Ohio. He later worked at the Kettering Medical Center’s Behavioral Health Center. David was also adjunct professor at Wright State University. David was an active and devoted member of Central Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Kettering and First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Middletown. Throughout the years, he served the church in many leadership roles, including Board Moderator and Elder. He was also the founder of the Feed My Sheep Garden, a ministry that reflected his commitment to serving others and helping provide food for those in need. In recognition of his faithful service, David was recently ordained as an Elder Emeritus by First Christian Church - Middletown.
David is survived by his wife of 59 years, a daughter and son-in-law, a son and daughter-in-law, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. The family will have a private Remembrance of Life service.
Memorial contributions may be made to a local hospice organization or to the HealthWell Foundation at healthwellfoundation.org.
