Dolores "Dolly" Niebur

Dolores “Dolly” Laverne Guhl Niebur, 102, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026, at Bickford of Middletown. Born May 7, 1924, in Chicago, Illinois, Dolly was the daughter of Arthur C. and Albertine A. Guhl.

Dolly loved life—and she loved people. She was a social butterfly in the very best sense, never met a stranger, and collected friends wherever she went. But above all else, family was the center of her world. She especially cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and took great joy in watching her family grow.

A faithful Lutheran, Dolly taught Sunday school in Illinois before moving to Ohio in 1972. She carried her faith with her throughout her life and was always ready to lend a helping hand. She later volunteered at both Middletown Regional Hospital and Atrium Medical Center, where her friendly spirit and love of people were surely appreciated.

Dolly and her husband, Marvin H. Niebur, were married in 1946 and shared 56 years together until his passing in 2002. They enjoyed many wonderful memories throughout their life together, including their annual fishing trips to Minnesota. Whether she was spending time with family, visiting with friends, volunteering, or simply enjoying an evening martini with plenty of olives, Dolly knew how to enjoy the good things in life.

Dolly was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur C. and Albertine A. Guhl; her beloved husband, Marvin H. Niebur; her brother, Arthur C. “Bob” Guhl; and her sisters, Audrey Pearson and Elaine Harris.

She is survived by her son, Mark Niebur (Tina); daughter, Pamela Kauffman (Douglas); grandchildren, Ryan Kauffman, Jennifer Kauffman, Megan Kauffman, Nicole McClain (Brian), and Shannon Grove (Andy); great-grandchildren, Dylan, Julia, and Colin McClain, Layla and Layne Grove, and Charlotte Kauffman; her brother- and sister-in-law, Maynard and Marilyn Niebur; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by her family and friends.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
