Earl R. Heidtman

Earl R. Heidtman, 90, died on September 10, 2026, at Atrium Medical Center, Middletown, Ohio. He was born in Toledo, Ohio, to Alfred and Alice Heidtman. He lived for over 30 years in Bath County, Kentucky, and recently moved back to the Middletown, Ohio, area.

He was a 1958 graduate of Ohio University and worked as Chief Sanitarian at the Middletown Health Department, retiring in 1993. He enjoyed playing racquetball, basketball and volleyball.

Earl is survived by his wife, Laurel Heidtman; his children: Cathy Dorn, Bryan (Nancy) Heidtman, Lori (Doug) Pruett, Reid (Brenda) Heidtman, and Sue Abney; brother, Hal Heidtman; 13 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ned Heidtman; sisters, Erma Heidtman, Sue Ann Heidtman, and Anita Heidtman; and grandson, Matthew Dorn.

A Memorial Celebration of Life is being planned, but the location and date are not finalized. When they are, they will be on the Spaulding website.
