Erik T. Wenzel

Erik Wenzel, 54, of Franklin died on September 4, 2026. He was born on August 26, 1972 near Chicago, Illinois to Thomas Wenzel and Barbara Kidd Nichols.

As an infant he moved to Middletown. Later he lived in California, for around 10 years, where he met Denise and got married. Erik and Denise were made for each other and shared many interests. They returned to Franklin where they raised their two boys. Erik loved his sons more than he could express. He was so proud of them. Erik was a man of many talents. Cooking was one of his most loved hobbies. He was generous and willing to help anyone.

Erik is survived by his wife of over 30 years, Denise (Schroter) Wenzel; two sons, Thomas Wenzel and Zachary (Kena Griffin) Wenzel; mother, Barbara Nichols; step-father, Brad Nichols; sister, Charlotte Jones; brother, Matt Wenzel; niece, Haley (Zach) Shorten; nephew, Sam Jones; great niece, Everleigh Shorten; close cousins, Judy, Eddie, Ofelia, Carson, Cam, Gracie and Chance Keller.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Wenzel.

Memorial Service will be Wednesday September 16, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Anthem House Church, 7974 Barret Road, West Chester, OH 45069.
