Gordon “Gordie” Shearer, 69, of Lewisburg, Ohio, died Saturday, August 25, 2007, at Riverside Nursing & Rehab. He was born in Middletown, on October 29, 1937 to parents Charles and Mary (Combs) Shearer.
Gordie worked as a tinner for General Motors for 37 years, retiring in 1998 and was a board member of General Motors Credit Union #801. He was the co-chair of the MDA Bass Tournament for over 20 years and helped with A Special Wish Foundation.
Mr. Shearer is survived by his wife, Loretta (Brodess) Shearer; two daughters, Leslie Jo (Rick) Ward of Alexandria, IN and Lori Lynn (Darius Fugate) Brewer of Fairfield; a son, Kevin Lee (Kelly Lynn) Shearer of Morrow; two step-sons, Todd Wysong of West Alexandria and Jerry (Sherri) Wysong of Lewisburg; a sister, Sonia Shearer of Lady Lake, FL; 7 grandchildren; 7 step-grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Yvonne (Curtis) Shearer; and his parents.
Funeral Service will be held Thursday, August 30, 2007 at 1:00 PM at WILSON-SCHRAMM-SPAULDING FUNERAL HOME, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.), Middletown, with Pastor Chuck Wolfinbarger officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at North Monroe Cemetery.
