Henry B. Day

Henry B. Day, 81 , of Madison Township, died Monday at Middletown Regional Hospital. Mr. Day was the supervisor of Building and Grounds for the Middletown City Schools for 43 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church, past president of Madison Lions Club, member of George M. Verity Masonic Lodge #760, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Dayton Chapter, Middletown Antioch Shrine Club, Antioch Temple of Dayton, and Prosser Chapter #367 Order of Eastern Star. Henry was an avid bass fisherman and loved landscaping and gardening. He was known for raising tomatoes and 1/2 runner beans.
He will be missed by his wife of 61 years Margaret G. Day; daughters Vivian Gertrude (James) Schweitzer and Dana D. (G. David) Howard;sisters-in-law Jo McCroskey and Marie Cockerham; Brother-in-law J.D. (Flo) Cockerham;grandchildren Donya (Rick) Wright; Scott (Marlene) Howard; Rebecca (Russell) Wilson; Kent (Shary) Howard; Natalie Barker; Brett (Michelle) Howard; Kirt Howard; Aaron Schweitzer; Andrew Schweitzer; and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents N.R. and Lina (Day) Day; seven brothers and 4 sisters.
Reverend George Brewer will officiate the funeral service.
