John Anthony "Tony" Dingess

John Anthony Dingess, "Tony" was born in Middletown Ohio on May 25, 1996, and he went home to be with Jesus in his sleep in the overnight hours of September 10th, 2026. He is preceded in death by his mother, Toni "Faith" Dingess, of Middletown; maternal grandparents, John and Pat Ratcliffe, of Middletown and paternal grandparents, Sonny and Marilyn Dingess, also of Middletown. He leaves behind his father, James Thomas Dingess, of Middletown; his sister, Lillian Genae Packenius (Hubert) and his brother, James Cassidy Dingess (Rebecca), both of Middletown; his niece, Ashlyn Shuldes and nephews, Christian Santmire, Elijah Santmire and Alexander Dingess, of Middletown and aunts, Dianna Neumeyer, of Port Washington, Wisconsin, Cathy Dingess, of Middletown and Melissa Lawwill, of Middletown and many other family and friends. He endeared himself to all he met with his open, kind and enthusiast nature.

Tony was a born-again believer who put his faith in Christ. Tony was the baby of the family and greatly enjoyed the perks of being so. He played football for Dayton Christian and loved to spend time watching Ohio State Games with the people in his life. Tony graduated from Dayton Christian, spent several years learning at Wright State University and Liberty University, and then went on to operate his own business, Dingess Lawn Care.

Tony was easy to talk to and had a way of making you feel understood. His family was extremely important to him and was someone you could count on to show up when he said he would. Moreover, he wasn't afraid to stand up for people, even when it cost him something. Tony was the kind of friend you only have once in a lifetime; loyal, unselfish, encouraging and always down for adventure. He lived his life curious about his environment and when he picked a direction, it was full steam ahead. His tenacity was remarkable, and when he set a goal, he had the self-discipline to see it through. Tony wasn't afraid to be silly and worked hard to keep everyone around him comfortable and smiling. His spirit was infectious, and his kindness thoroughly sincere. He saw the goodness in people, and he made friends everywhere he went. Unforgettable, he will stay in our fondest memories until the day we meet again.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 23, 2026 from 5:30 - 8:30 PM at Spaulding Funeral Home & Crematory, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd. (at Bonita Dr.) Middletown, OH 45044.

Funeral for close family and friends will be Thursday, September 24, 2026 at 10:00 AM at the funeral home with burial at Grace Memorial Gardens.
