Lawrence S. Knight

Lawrence S. Knight, 85, of Monroe, died Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties. He was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio on July 16, 1927 to parents Charles and Gladys (Cost) Knight.

Lawrence worked as a Train Master, retiring after 42 years. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II.

Mr. Knight is survived by his wife, Ellen (Miller) Knight; sons, Douglas (Colleen) Knight, James (Karen) Knight & Mark (Darlene) Knight; sister, Mary Jane Kelly; grandchildren, Matthew, Julie, Stephen, Erin, Sarah & Kyle; and great grandchildren, Isabella, Lucas & Lacie.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Charles Knight Jr. and infant brother, Robert Dean Knight.

Funeral Service will be held Thursday, March 7, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Reverend Doug Sonnenberg officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 12:00 – 1:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Mound Cemetery.
