Lois J. Smith

Lois J. Smith, 91, of Lebanon, died on July 4, 2026. She was born on August 3, 1934 in Middletown, OH to Clark and Stella (McNabb) Ballard.

After high school, Lois worked for BD Morgan Company until her husband started SK Construction Company where she worked as a secretary for over 10 years. She was a member of West Elkton Methodist Church and Burnt Store Presbyterian Church in Punta Gorda, Florida. Lois was an avid golfer, loved to fish and be out on the water boating. She lived in Punta Gorda for 29 years and loved the home that they had built there. Lois had Lisa, a down syndrome child, at the age of 20 and was a caregiver for all of Lisa's life. Lisa was the greatest joy of the whole family.

Lois is survived by her sons, Dan (Tina) Smith, Scott (Michele) Smith, Jim (Colett) Smith; grandchildren, Sara (David) Wilson, Holley (Michael) Veatch, Haley (Jeremy Miller) Lewis; great grandchildren, Ellie Wilson, Kenzie Wilson, Eden Miller, Nova Miller, Ayla Veatch; sister, Marilyn (Robert) Crawford.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard "Richard" Smith; daughter, Lisa Smith; grandson, Bryan Smith; sisters, Opal Ballard, Thelma Ballard, Lorene Perkins; brothers, Edward Ballard and Herman Ballard.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 25, 2026 from 10:00 AM to12:00 PM at Spaulding Funeral Home & Crematory, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd(at Bonita Dr.) Middletown, OH.

Memorial Service will be Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 12:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Sandy Apgar officiating.
