Lucille E. Knight

Lucille E. Knight, 102, of Middletown, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at Atrium Medical Center. She was born in Taunton, MA on June 24, 1923 to parents, Elmer and Mildred (Bullock) Horton.

During their over 50 year marriage, Lucille and Winfield lived in many places due to her husband's job with the railroad, and she always made a point of finding a way to give back to the community they were in. She dedicated her time to making a loving home for her family. In addition to summers on Square Pond in Shapleigh, Maine, Lucille and Winfield settled down in Middletown in 1985 and became active members of Christ United Methodist Church. She also enjoyed volunteering with the Meals-on-Wheels program through Middletown Regional Hospital.

Lucille is survived by her daughter, Lucinda "Cindy" (Gig) Brown; son, Andrew Knight; and grandchildren, Nicholas (Emily) Brown, Katherine "Katie" Brown, Matthew Knight & Megan Knight.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Winfield B. Knight in 2001; and sisters, Phyllis Carr & Alma Paulus

There will be no services locally. There will be a graveside service at Westville Cemetery in Taunton, Massachusetts at a later date.
