Marvin J. Merritt

Marvin J Merritt, 82, of Middletown, died Monday, June 3, 2013, at Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties. He was born in Washington Court House on October 29, 1930 to parents Joe and Gladys (Brown) Merritt.

Marvin was a teacher & coach, which he loved, for many schools over the years. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp.

Mr. Merritt is survived by his wife, Carol J. (Bolte) Merritt; four children, Diane (Capt. Stephen) Maynard, Joe (Christy) Merritt, Chris (Dr. Mike) Kinser & Tom (Paula) Merritt; sister, Lorie Armbrust; grandchildren, Stephen, Julie, Emily, Joey, Michael, Megan, Hanna & Alex; and great grandchildren, Abigail, Emma, Parker & Carter.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Alice Jean Noon.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to all of the staff at Hospice of Butler & Warren Counties for their care.

Memorial service will be held Monday, June 17, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Reverend Allen Miller officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:00 pm. Military honors will be conducted by the Middletown Combined Honor Guard.
