Mary Lou Philpot passed away on May 7, 2026 at Otterbein Senior Living in Lebanon, Ohio at 97 years old.
She was born on July 22. 1928 in Red Lion, Ohio. She was the youngest child of Robert and Caroline Weidle. She attended Trenton, Ohio schools from 1st grade thru high school, graduating in 1947. She married Ronald Philpot in 1948. They celebrated 71 yrs together before his passing in 2019. Together they had 6 children. She is survived by 5 of them. She was a homemaker and she and Ron raised their family in Franklin, Ohio, then in Trenton. She resided at Otterbein Assisted Living since 2019, where she was a beloved resident.
She started working at McDonalds in 1990 at 71 yrs old as a hostess, then moving to Dad’s Restaurant in Engles Corner in 2001.
She was a long time and faithful member of Blue Ball Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her children Debbie (Jeff) Jay, of Washington, IL, Ron (Sue) Philpot of Lebanon, OH, Rick ( Michele) Philpot of Middletown, OH, Beverly Philpot (Tracy Rowland) of Germantown and Dennis (Laura) of Maple Valley, WA. She is survived by grandchildren, Faith (Jay) Ramirez, Michael Philpot, Tonya (Bryant) Crowe, Sara (Philpot) Snow, Nathan Philpot, Rose Mary (Philpot) Burkett , Ashley (Jay) Fluck, Travis Philpot, Cassandra (Philpot) Raske, Matt Philpot and Wyatt Philpot, 27 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, her son, Gregory, her grandson, Chad and all of her siblings, Raymond and Howard Weidle, Lauretta Hirschbach, Lawrence and Harry Weidle, Clara Rickard, Cleo Bennett and Hattie Taggert.
Services will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at Spaulding Funeral Home and Crematory, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., (at Bonita Dr.) Middletown. Visitation will be from 10 AM to 11 AM, funeral service follows immediately after. Her ashes, along with her late husband’s, will be interred at Butler County Memorial Park following the funeral service.
