Michael J. “Mike” Brown, 56, of West Chester, died on October 23, 2026, leaving behind family and countless friends who loved his generous heart, his sense of fun, and the warmth he brought into their lives.
Born in Middletown, Ohio, on July 11, 1970, to James T. and Alice M. (Sauer) Brown, Mike grew into someone who could turn a stranger into a friend in a matter of minutes. Outgoing, caring, and full of personality, he made people feel welcome and made time together something to look forward to. Mike lit up a room, and those who knew him will deeply miss the laughter and love he brought with him.
Mike worked as a manager at Manheim Auto Auction. He enjoyed deep-sea fishing, traveling, and collecting bourbon and cigars. Above all, he treasured his people. His close-knit circle of friends held a special place in his life, with friendships spanning decades and built on shared adventures, laughter, and being there for one another. To those friends, Mike was family.
Behind his fun-loving spirit was a big, caring heart. That heart found a special purpose in recent years when Mike began officiating weddings for family and friends as an ordained minister. What began lightheartedly became something he truly cherished. Helping people he loved celebrate their love became one of the meaningful joys of his life.
Mike is survived by his uncles and aunt, Richard Sauer, James Sauer, and Larry & Karen Brown; his cousins, Bob and Monica Cummins, Greg and Nancy Sauer, Nicole and Tim Bowman, Dietrich Sauer, and Maria Brown; his nieces, nephews, and second cousins, Hunter, Maddie Rayvon, James, Will, Jonathon; and a multitude of dear friends whose lives were richer because he was part of them.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James T. and Alice Brown; his sister, Angie Brown; and many aunts and uncles.
Mike will be remembered in the stories told about him, the laughter those stories bring, and the friendships that will always carry a part of him. He leaves an absence that is deeply felt and a lifetime of memories that will be held close.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 5, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Parish–Holy Trinity Church, 201 Clark Street, Middletown, Ohio. A Memorial Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m., with Father John Civille officiating.
