Ruth C. Back

Ruth Ober Back, 95, of Middletown, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at Liberty of Middletown. She was born in Middletown on December 9, 1917, a daughter of Harry E. and Clara Ober.

Mrs. Back was a homemaker and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt & sister. She was known as an outstanding golfer & had won a number of championships over the years. She was a member of Delta Theta Tau Sorority & a longtime member of St. Paul's Church. Her grandfather, Alfons Ober, was a board member of that church and a Middletown City Commissioner in 1932. In her later years she was a member of First Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Wells & Karin (Jim) Howe; sister, Lois (Jake) Ireland; two grandchildren, Pamela (Gary) Reardon & Connie (Jim) Smith; and a great grandson, Logan Reardon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sol C. Back (May 17, 1990); parents; two brothers, Alfred Ober & Donald Ober; and grandson, Reese Edward Wells.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
