Shirley M. Klapper

Shirley M. Klapper, 79, of Middletown, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at Atrium Medical Center. She was born in North East Borough, Pennsylvania on December 25, 1946, a wonderful Christmas gift to Robert and Isabelle (Allen) Swoger.

Shirley had worked in sales for Dillard's. Her greatest joy was her family and she loved being with them and enjoying all of their achievements.

Shirley is survived by her children, Robert Earl "Bobby" (Yvonne) Klapper, Angela Renee "Angie" Klapper, William Joseph "Bill" (Cathy) Klapper and Kenneth Marion Allen (Connie) Paynter; and the lights of her life, her 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren with another one on the way; as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert L. "Bob" Klapper in 2017; her parents; sister, Peggy Martens; and brothers, Robert Swoger, Richard Spirling, Clifford Swoger and Kenneth Swoger.

In honor of Shirley's wishes, there will be no services.
