Stephen E. Wood

Stephen E. Wood, 76, of Monroe, died on November 5, 2026 at his residence. He was born on January 25, 1950 in Middletown, OH to Lawrence and Mildred Jeanne (Laubach) Wood.

Stephen graduated from Madison High School and went on to earn his bachelor's degree from Miami University. He was a project construction supervisor for ODOT, retiring in 2000. Stephen enjoyed playing pinochle, traveling and attending his grandkids activities. He had a special love for golf and twice achieved a hole in one.

Stephen is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sharon (Murphy) Wood; daughter, Stephanie (Jason) Lawson; grandchildren, Jayden Lawson and Lauren Lawson; brother, Larry (Lois) Wood; sister-in-law, Jan (Ralph) Gillman and numerous nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 12, 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Spaulding Funeral Home & Crematory, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd (at Bonita Dr.) Middletown, OH.

Funeral Service will be follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Poasttown, OH.
